Cold-Climate Steel Structure for Inner Mongolia Winter Sports Venue

Jidian Construction Materials Co., Ltd. supplied the steel structure for a winter sports training venue in Inner Mongolia. The 6,200-ton steel package features Q345D low-temperature steel grades rated for service temperatures down to -20°C, curved roof trusses with 56-meter clear span, and specialized ice rink support systems including embedded cooling pipe brackets and dehumidification equipment platforms.

Our engineering team in Xiamen designed the structure for heavy snow loads of 1.2 kN/m² and thermal cycling from -30°C to +35°C annual temperature range. The roof trusses incorporate thermal break connections at support points to minimize conductive heat loss through the building envelope. The venue achieved energy consumption 35% below comparable facilities through the integrated structural-thermal design approach.

Key Data: 6,200 tons Q345D steel | 56m clear span | -20°C service rating | 1.2 kN/m² snow load | Thermal break connections | 35% energy savings
